The pedal industry as a whole revolves around several different circuits and their variations, some companies work hard to break the boundaries such as the likes of TC Electronic but most companies look at what sells and add their own spin/USP to the products.
With Behringer, USP is often price, but with some of their pedals, it's available! You see some of the clone pedals Behringer makes are no longer available from their original manufacturers and the second-hand prices can be silly. The Ultra Metal is very brave, it's taking on the people's champion of pedals. The mighty MT-2 and MT-2w are both loved and laughed at equally, this is simply because these pedals do sooooooo much but are known for one thing, "bee's in a jar" tone However just like the MT-2's, the UM300 has a huge amount of control over the EQ section allowing you to create some of the greatest heavy rock to metal tones you've ever heard. Simply put, if you can't get great tones from this then it's not the pedal's fault!
