DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 (1979)

DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 (1979)

A two-knob legend.

Back then in the '70s when it came out, the DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 was not an immediate hit. But during the years it became more and more sought after thanks to its wide range of gain capabilities. The sound of this pedal is extremely organic and across the gain sweep you will definitely find several sweet spots. The magic of the DOD Overdrive Preamp 250 is the mix of flat midrange and slightly rolled of lows which let the tone really open up the more gain you add. The legend of the DOD 250 led to several boutique makers creating their own versions of it. Some years ago this legendary pedal was reissued by Digitech. The reissue contains the 741 op amp and sounds pretty close to the real thing. So if you cannot find a '70s one, make sure to check the reissue.
