This is the Paul Gilbert edition of a pedal he's been using for a long time. Being a signature version of a pedal from such a renowned player you'd expect it to be an expensive boutique affair but you'd be wrong. The Mojo Mojo, as with most TC pedals is sub traditionally $100 and this edition still sits way under that price. This makes it one of the favoured pedals of budget pedal chaps and bonified rock stars alike! Paul Gilbert has had a fantastic career originally playing in bands such as racer x and Mr Big but no he's famous in his own right. Often mentioned in the same sentences as superstars such as Vai, Satriani, EVH, Malmsteen, Pauls technique is off the charts so if it works for him ....
Mojo Overdrive or Mojo Distortion
It may well say overdrive on the box but this version of the mojo mojo has had a vintage bump allowing it to push your amps hard creating more drive. This stacked with the impressive amount of gain within the pedal definitely provides distortion tones.
11 The Voice switch on the original famously didn't really do much so thankfully that's been changed. It's now harnessing the power of spinal tap by taking things to 11! A quick flip of this switch engages a gain boost perfect for heavier songs in while keeping your own flavour.
Mojo EQ The PG Mojo Mojo features an active EQ section, meaning that at 12 Oclock everything is level, so clockwise boosts and counterclockwise cuts. This also means that the Mids are always at 12, allowing you to cut/boost them relative to the treble and bass. Providing such clever controls makes the Mojo Mojo a very powerful tool in sculpting your own sound.
